Allison's Sneak Peek

You might remember Allison from this family session, or maybe Jamie and Jake from their maternity session, and you might remember Allison's grandparents, too. Well, Allison's first birthday is right around the corner and it is time for her one year portraits.  I adore this family and was excited to have the opportunity to take more photos for them, especially in honor of such a wonderful occasion!

Before we get started, I have to say that this entire session looks amazing in black and white, and it took everything I had to include some images in color!  I recently saw a pin on pinterest of an entire wall in someone's home decorated with huge black and white canvases of the family's children.  As soon as I saw these pictures of Allison, I couldn't help but think that they would look amazing displayed in a similar manner!

Isn't she a doll?  This first one is definitely on the favorites list...

I just love how Allison is posing with her little hands in her lap here.  She's a natural already!...

Look at that adorable smile!...

Little Miss Fix-It...

Those teeth!!!...

Another favorite...

So cute!....

Allison is such an observant little thing and you can just see the wheels turning in that mind of hers.  I think she is going to be an 'old soul' and wise beyond her years as she grows up...

Baby Shoes!...

Wheeeee....

Those eyes!...

A little fun with blocks....

Jamie and Jake,  Thank you for letting me take these photos of your little cutie for you.  It was an honor and a pleasure.  It was great getting to see all of you again. And a great big Happy Birthday to Allison as she turns one!

Birds and Bees and Butterflies, Oh My!

A few weeks ago I had a photo session at the Desert Botanical Gardens, and I went a few hours early to scope out some good places for us to shoot.  While I was walking around I did a little shooting and decided to share a few of the photos I took on the blog.

I especially like these first few of a hummingbird that Kevin spotted and pointed out to me....

I braved a few of the bees, even though I am very allergic to bee stings!  Luckily, they were too engrossed in their flowers to notice me...

Last but not least, a few of the gorgeous butterflies we saw...

I'd love to return to the botanical gardens sometime to take photos when I have a full day to spend shooting (and when it cools off a little bit), and I'd love to shoot more sessions there, as well.  It is a gorgeous place for portraits!

Lorrie + Dave + Brady + Camden's Sneak Peek

Even though I've never wanted children of my own, I love kids!  I always joke that I would have made an amazing aunt, but being an only child that wasn't in the cards for me.  (In case you were wondering... Yes, Kevin does have siblings, but none of them have kids, either.) So, whenever I have the opportunity to hang out with kids I get pretty excited about it.  And let me tell you, I couldn't have picked two more adorable ones to spend my Saturday afternoon with last weekend!  Brady and Camden kept me laughing through their entire session, and I easily could have spent a few more hours with these little cuties...

Camden (ah-maz-ing name by the way), just turned two a few weeks ago.  He was 100% little boy during the photos - all about playing in the dirt and rocks!  But at least he was sweet and wanted to share them with me...

Brady is about to turn 5 in a few days (Happy early birthday!), and the two of us had a ton of fun doing different faces and poses.  Here he is showing me his intimidating face...

I'm thinking mom and dad have a future heartbreaker on their hands!  Can he be any more adorable?...

Ahhh, to be young and full of energy again...

Is it any wonder the boys are so cute?  Look how stunning their parents are!  Meet Dave and Lorrie...

Brothers and best buds!  Camden obviously looks up to his big brother, Brady!  He wanted to do everything Brady was doing all afternoon...

Love, love, love!...

Brady was loving having his photos taken!  While Dave and Lorrie were rounding up Camden, he jumped on the blanket for some photos while we were waiting...

The boys were getting a bit restless, so we had to get some action shots.  They got such a kick out of running for the camera, and even got Lorrie and Dave to join in on the fun...

I am in love with this photo of Brady.  Of course, there are some of him smiling and being silly, but there's just something about this serious one that drew me in...

OK.  This is a favorite!!  It needs blown up on a huge canvas, doesn't it?!

I seriously can't get over how adorable they are!...

Another favorite, especially in black and white...

We even managed to sneak in a few of Lorrie and Dave.  If you've been around a while, then you know how much I love the desert landscape and I'm sure it comes as no surprise that I love these!...

Lorrie and Dave,  Thank you so much for allowing me to capture these photos of your family.  It was a pleasure meeting you and spending my evening with you and your sweet boys.

My Sweetpeas

It's been quite a while since I posted any new portraits of Zoe and Lexi, so a few weeks ago I took some new photos of them to share on the blog.

If you're just stopping by for the first time, this is Zoe...

And this is Lexi...

I gave it my all, but I just couldn't get a decent photo of the two of them together.  One or the other of them just wouldn't stay in place long enough for me to get any shots.  But luckily, I did get a handful of cute individual images of each of them.

Lexi looking unusually calm...

I love the purple scarf with Zoe's coloring!...

She's such a happy girl...

Did someone say treats?...

Are we done yet?...
