Welcome to the Family, Olive!

Please allow me to introduce you to Olive, our newest pup!

Back at the beginning of the year when we adopted Ivy, I could not imagine having more than two dogs - until Ivy came along and turned our duo into a trio, that is. She was the perfect fit with Zoe and Lexi, and we just couldn't fathom letting her go once we got to know her.

However, once she got settled in, it became apparent that Zoe and Lexi couldn't keep up with her and she was going to need a younger playmate in the house.  So, we decided to start fostering again, until we found a BFF for Ivy to play with.  It didn't take too long after we brought Olive home for Ivy to let us know that she wanted her to stay!  The two of them have become fast friends, and they just have the best time playing together.

So, I give you foster failure number two: Olive:

Unlike Ivy, Olive is super photogenic and LOVES getting her photos taken.  She will sit and pose all day long.  She even gets up periodically and repositions herself for more shots.  It's rather comical!

Since she's so easy to photograph, here are lots of shots of our newest little cutie...

And now, I do believe that our family is complete! I think four dogs in the maximum in this house!  I look forward to their crazy antics in the coming years.

Welcome to the Family, Ivy!

Please allow me to introduce you to our newest addition, Ivy!

Ivy is a rescue who turned into a foster failure, which is something I didn't think would happen!  Zoe and Lexi have always been the perfect pair of pups and I never thought that adding a third dog into the mix would feel right.  However, this little cutie came along and surprised me.

Ivy is a hot little mess of medical issues and she was supposed to be a long term foster.  I brought her home back in October and the plan was to get her through her tick fever, cherry eye surgery, spay surgery, and bilateral FHO surgery and then put her up for adoption.  However, she fit herself into our home and our lives so seemlessly that we decided we just couldn't let her go!  So, instead we fostered her long enough to get her over the tick fever and have her cherry eye and spay surgeries done, and then we adopted her.  On the advice of our vet, we opted not to do FHO surgery on her at this time.  She actually gets along perfectly, so we are just going to see what the future brings.

Here are some photos I took of her a few days after I brought her home as a foster.  I will say that Ivy is a tough one to photograph!  She is a sweet dog, but she is a bit timid and she was not a fan of the camera. However, I did manage to sneak in a handful of shots of her:

Isn't she the cutest?!...
She has THE BEST underbite!...
"I spy you over there taking photos of me, but I guess I'll allow it."...
"Really, Mama? Sigh."...
I am so happy to have this little sweetheart as part of our family! I'm looking forward to sharing a long and happy life with her and her sisters.

Luke + Kim + Shannon's Sneak Peek

Recently, I had the honor and the privilege of taking photos for one for my dearest friends and her family. There's a bit of irony in the fact that I am taking their photos now because if it wasn't for my photography I wouldn't even know them.

Kevin and Luke went to law school together but graduated a semester apart.  I just so happened to be at Luke's graduation ceremony watching some other friends get their diplomas.  At the time, Shannon was still little and Kim needed to leave the room with her just as Luke was about to walk across the stage and receive his diploma.  A mutual friend asked if I could take photos for him since Kim wasn't able to do it.  Of course, I said yes. Later that night, I ended up meeting them and Kim and I instantly bonded.  The rest, as they say, is history.  I could go on and on about just how much I adore these people but I'm sure you'd rather look at photos than hear my ramblings, so...

Please allow me to introduce you to Kim, Shannon, and Luke:

This first photo is one of my favorites of the bunch!...
Another favorite!...
Isn't Shannon just the cutest?!...
Look at those beautiful eyes!...
I adore this photo of mother and daughter...
So sweet...
Kim has the most infectious laugh. When I look at this set of images of her laughing with Shannon, it's like I'm right there in the moment again and I can almost hear her...
I loved capturing these sweet moments between daddy and daughter, too!...
And a few more of the whole family to round out the session!...
Kim, Thank you for allowing me to capture these moments of your precious family!
