BBL 2013-2014 | Make a List of 101 Things That Make Me Smile

#19 MAKE A LIST OF 101 THINGS THAT MAKE ME SMILE

Why did I include this on my Bucket List?

It's too easy to concentrate on the negative in the world these days, so I decided to do something to redirect my attention to the positives.

Was the experience what I had hoped it would be?

I was surprised just how hard it was to come up with this list!  I tried to only put things on my list that really 'fit' for me and not include things that were overly random.  It took a while, but I finally came up with 101 things that make me smile.

The Best of 2013 | Portraits

Before embracing 2014 and all that it might have in store for me, I want to pause and take a look back at 2013.  It seems every year when I do these 'best of' posts, I include a little pep talk to myself about being ok with where I am in my photography journey.  I remind myself to be thankful for everything I do have, and to try not to fret about what I don't.  However, for once I feel like I don't need to do that this year.  It really been a great year for my photography, and as I enter 2014, I have to say that I'm right where I want to be!

So before I embrace a new year, here is a peek back at some of my favorite portraits, in no particular order, from 2013...

Self-Portrait | December 2013

December has been a whirlwind of insanity between Kevin's law school graduation and closing on our new house a few days before Christmas.  Most of the month was spent visiting with family members who were in town to celebrate with Kevin, combined with packing and moving everything we own, with a whole lot of scrubbing every inch of our new house thrown in just for fun.

We are super stoked to be in our own home finally, but thoroughly exhausted from the work it took to get here.  As a result, we more or less unpacked the necessities and left everything else in a big ol' pile in the garage where it is going to sit untouched until I regroup and regain an ounce or two of sanity (or until I get tired of parking in the driveway).

So here I am in the middle of the mess for this month's self-portrait.

Phil + Griselda + Cudi's Sneak Peek

I just adore this session and it's been killing me to keep these photos under wraps for the past month.  I'm so excited that I can finally share them with you now that Christmas is over!

Phil and Griselda are the sweetest couple, and it was a pleasure photographing them and their fur kid, Cudi.  (If you're thinking that Griselda looks familiar, it is because the lovely lady has been in front of my camera before.)  We meet for our session at one of my absolute favorite areas to shoot near downtown Phoenix, and I don't think I could be more in love with how their session turned out.  So, without further ado, please allow me to introduce you to this awesome family.

Just taking a little stroll...

Is Cudi not just the cutest dog EVER?...

Phil and Griselda are pretty cute, too...

This is one of my favorites!...

Another fav...

Don't they look Ah-maz-ing in this one?  Love, love, love!...

Another sweet one with their fur kid...

These two are so much fun!...

So, sweet!...

Phil and Griselda, Thank you for allowing me to take these photos for you. It was a pleasure getting to spend an evening with you both, and meeting Cudi. I hope you had a wonderful holiday.
